Proposal Status: Conformity Determination Issued
Project Overview
Type of application: New
Proponent name: steve england
Company: Hamlet of Arviat
Schedule:
Start Date: 2020-05-01
End Date: 2045-10-31
Operation Type: Annual
Project Description:
The Hamlet of Arviat proposes the installation of a 1,600 kW of wind power generation project, provided by two wind turbines, on municipal lands west of the Hamlet of Arviat. The wind installation would include construction of a power line running along the existing road from the Hamlet of Arviat out to the esker where the wind turbines are proposed to be constructed. Arviat and NRStor Remotes have come together with the shared goal of implementing a comprehensive clean energy solution that significantly reduces the amount of diesel fuel required to power the community of Arviat.

 1. Please note that the area covered on the project map captures the prospective project area. The area of the polygon area that will temporarily disrupted by the wind turbines construction should be approximately 20% of the area. 2. During asset operation the land area that will host the turbines and other infrastructure, is much smaller than the 20% utilized during construction. Thank you for your attention and consideration.
