Project Description:
Montego Resources is submitting this application because it requires an updated letter of compliance from NPC in order to be granted an extension to our water license. The Kiyuk Lake Property was has previously received an updated letter of compliance from NPC and it has been included with this application. Montego Resources. (the Company) is a mineral exploration company who recently acquired the Kiyuk Lake Proeprty from Northern Empire Resources Corp. Northern Empire acquired the property from Prosperity Goldfields Corp. in 2015. Prosperity was founded in 2009 as junior mineral exploration company committed to exploring for economic gold deposits in northern Canada. The purpose of Montego’s activity is to evaluate the Kiyuk Lake Gold Project, located on Crown Land 350 km from Arviat in the Kivalliq Region, Nunavut. Montego is dedicated to exploring in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible manner. Although no exploration work has been conducted on the Property, Montego would like to continue exploration in the Spring 2017 under the guidelines of its water licence and land use permit should funds be available but no set program is currently in place. In 2011, Prosperity applied for and received a Class A land use permit from AANDC (N2100C0011), a Type B water license from the NWB (2BE-KLG116), a NIRB screening decision (11EN019) and a positive NPC screening. In 2011 and 2012, Prosperity amended the land use permit and water license to add a second drill, expand camp and increase water use and fuel storage. The 2013 program was amended to include a third drill, ground geophysics, till sampling, nine new structures to accommodate up to 50 people, installation of a weather station, two 30,000 L tanks for fuel storage, increased water use and the addition of equipment and fuel transport tanks. In the spring, 2013, Prosperity’s request to renew and amend its land use permit and amend the water license was approved and the water licence and land use permit are currently in good standing. In early February, 2013 Prosperity conducted a six week exploration program which included a 20-hole drill program and a ground geophysics survey. In the summer of 2013, Prosperity conducted a survey of 3 of its mineral claims which will be converted to mineral leases and re-logged a number of its drill holes. No work was conducted on the property in 2014. In the summer of 2015 a very team of 2 people visited to site to as the company was made aware of damage to Weatherhaven tents and scattered debris caused by wildlife and weather. All damaged tents were repaired where possible or removed from site. All debris was cleaned up and disposed of using the on-site incinerator or removed from site. Fuel spills were noted, contained, and reported to the Enforcement Branch Environment Canada. Vegetation in the area is characterised by small stands of stunted forest, intermixed with open tundra, numerous lakes and bogs. Water quality in the area is pristine. Soils and sediments comprise a mix of till, fluvial deposits, and aeolian material. Wildlife in the area includes caribou, moose, fox, wolves, black and grizzly bears and wolverines. Migratory birds pass through in May and June and return south in September. Northern Empire works to ensure there is minimal disturbance to wildlife and do not foresee any impact on the environment, water quality or climate as a result of their field work. The long- term goal of Northern Empire is the discovery of an economic resource that would provide the local economy with sustainable employment. The 2011, 2012 and 2013 programs employed people from Tadoule Lake, MB, Lac Brochet, MB and Arviat, NU.

Hello, A large portion of the documents we have are included in this application. We are hoping to get a updated NPC letter of compliance. If more documents are needed, please let me know. I would also like to know how long we can expect an updated compliance letter will take to receive. Best, Olivia (778) 895 - 8055
