Project Overview
Type of application: New

End Date: 2019-12-31
Operation Type: Seasonal
Project Description:
The Hamlet of Resolute Bay is served by a piped water and sewer system with the water supply drawn from Char Lake. Late in 2012 the presence of hydrocarbon was detected on the Char Lake pump house site. Following a review of alternatives it was concluded that the most appropriate course of action was construction of a new pump house followed by remediation and rehabilitation of the site. The new site has been selected at 74.7081degrees N and 94.8890degrees W and it is east to the current facility. The works on this new site are to include a new pump house, extension to the existing access road, pole line and relocation of the existing fuel tank. It is recommended that a 150mm diamter transmission watermain be provided to convey water between the new pump house and the Signal Hill water treatment plant. The design life of this new pump house is considered for 30 yrs. and the construction is expected in 2018. The Project proposal is attached.

This application is to accommodate the construction of the new Pump station and also to decommission of the existing pump station. NWB is the lensing body I believe. The construction years are 2018 and 2019.
