Project Description:
Quarry sites KM 8,15,16,20 are newly proposed quarry sites located in Rankin Inlet. All sites are located on untitled Municipal land, which is administered by the Commissioner of Nunavut for the benefit of the local Municipality. This is newly proposed quarry site. Its located on untitled Municipal land and is north-west of the community of Rankin Inlet. There is road access to the site but upgrades to the road would be required for it to support larger vehicles such as dump trucks and loaders. At this time there is no currently approved extraction amount per year. The plan is it get the quarry approved as a whole and the Hamlet will authorize material to be taken out of the quarry on an as needed basis using quarry permits.
