Waste and Impacts
Environmental Impacts
Limited. Travel during melt season on foot or limited to defined route between lakes (ATV). Camp foot traffic mitigated by boardwalk and marked trails. Human waste incinerated with electric toilet. Grey water discharged into shallow screened pit, pit refilled after season. All waste and garbage stored and removed on available flights to Resolute.
Camp activities avoid wildlife encounters and interactions, and we respect distances to known nesting sites.
Scientific sampling limited to small water samples (<1 L), or electronic measurments of weather, soil, water and lakes. Instruments are sealed and non-hazardous.
