Project Description:
The Clyde River Harbour construction project has been awarded to Pilitak Enterprises Ltd. The construction of this new infrastrucrure requires a large amount of rocks that will be taken from the existing quarry. In order to cross the river to access the quarry, this project involves the installation of temporary culverts or the upgrade of the existing bridge that does not have the capacity for supporting heavy construction equipment. We selected the bridge improvement which will allow the hamlet to beneficy of a permanent structure at the end of the project. The current application concerns only the existing bridge improvement. The bridge improvement will includes the addition of 4 bridge supports made of steel piles to be drilled in the river bed. Each support will be made of 3 steel pile having a diameter of 8''. Two supports will be installed on each side of the river to secure the exting binwalls. The two other supports will be installed in the first third of the bridge span. The existing wood decking will be reinforced by adding new wood sleepers and new timber deck.
